Born on April 1, 1994, in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, and raised in the beautiful Turks & Caicos Islands, Benjy Saintamour has emerged as a talented and multifaceted Caribbean artist. Equally at home behind the piano, composing, singing, or arranging music, he brings a unique voice to the scene.
Discovering His Calling
From a very young age, music has been Benjy’s greatest passion. After performing with several groups, he made the bold decision to go solo. This step allowed him to fully express his authentic self and share the musical treasures he had been carrying inside.
Shaped by a Legend
Tines Salvant stands as Benjy’s greatest musical influence, shaping nearly half of his artistic style. This powerful connection continues to guide the direction and emotion in his work.
First Steps on Stage
Benjy’s very first performance happened at the Bethel Adventist Church in Providenciales. Although meaningful, that experience encouraged him to step outside traditional boundaries and forge his own musical path.
Faith, Family, and Determination
Growing up in a strongly religious household brought its own set of challenges. Benjy had to navigate expectations and push through obstacles, but he never compromised his true identity or artistic vision.
His Boldest Statement Yet: “Aba Religion”
With his latest project “Aba Religion”, Benjy fearlessly addresses how religion—while meaningful to many—can sometimes divide rather than unite people. The project is a call for connection beyond spiritual borders, reflecting his desire to bring people together through music.
Staying True to Himself
Deeply influenced by the values his parents instilled in him, Benjy crafts thoughtful, inclusive songs. His music remains clean and accessible, ensuring it can reach listeners from all walks of life.
An Unforgettable Encounter
As a child, Benjy had the chance to meet his idol, Tines Salvant. Those precious minutes spent watching the artist left an indelible mark—one of the most beautiful memories he still carries today.
Looking Forward
Despite the hurdles, Benjy remains focused on his mission: creating music that inspires, uplifts, and serves his country—especially the young generation of Haiti. He dreams of building a legacy that will continue touching hearts long after he’s gone.
Life Offstage
Away from the studio and stage, Benjy recharges through meditation in nature. A big football enthusiast, he once trained with the Providenciales football academy in Turks & Caicos.
